On Halloween night we took Allie trick or treating to a few neighbors homes. She had a good time ringing the doorbell, saying trick or treat and then saying thank-you. But I think she had more fun at home opening the door for all the trick or treaters :-)

Toucan, condiments and grapes!?!?
Halloween 2009. Allie is the toucan, Joe and I are mustard and ketchup and Robin is the grapes. We had a neighborhood costume party on Friday so we had to dress up and of course we waited until the last minute to come up with costume ideas, and the best choice was the condiment costume. Robin, being the creative one, made her own costume of balloons and safety pins :-) and she was the hit of the party, literally! The goal of the night for most of the party-goers was to pop her grapes and once the balloons started popping, Robin started jumping! We all had a great time with our neighbors.

18 inches of Fall snow
Thank you La Nina! That's what the weather man says about this winter for Colorado, a lot of early snow, and boy was he right! In 48 hours the town of Frederick got 18 inches of snow, it was beautiful, white and quiet. The totals all around the state ranged from 6 inches to 3.5 feet!! Thankfully CDOT kept up with the snowfall and kept the roads mostly clear so that we could all get to our various activities. This time Allie was able to play in the snow and she loved it! We had to bring her in once her hands felt like icicles, because of course she wouldn't keep gloves on :-)

Visit from the Wadsworth Family
Joe and I went to a very large high school (630 in our graduating class), but we made some really close friends that we still keep in touch with after 12 years!! Leigh (Maness) Wadsworth is one of them, and she is married to her high school sweetheart, Steven! They have 2 kids, Eli and Anna Clare and they are expecting a third in May!! They have ever been to Colorado so they chose Leigh's fall break to come out and visit us from Nashville, TN. We all had a really great time, it is so amazing how we can just get back together and chat like no time has passed! The weekend was a great mix of touring around and just hanging out at the house. To top it all off, we got a babysitter and had a nice dinner out, without the kids!

October events
We had our first snow early this year. For Denver metro the first snow is usually around Halloween but this year it was on October 10th!! We are prepping for a very snowy winter! It was waaayy too cold for Allie to play in it (19 degrees with a 8 degree wind chill),
Round Two of Sandestin Pictures
Before Allie, and I drove down to Sandestin with Garrett, we stopped by Grandpa and Cici's house for a yummy dinner and time to catch up with family :-) We were pleasantly surprised when Cici told us that her mom, "Granny" and her sister, Kathy were visiting for the weekend! It was a quick pop-in visit but great to see everyone again!
Sorry for the dark lighting of the video, but I had to post it anyway! Kathy taught Allie about riding the horsey and now anytime she sees someone with their legs crossed she sits on their feet and says "horsey"!! It's too cute :-)

First round of Sandestin pictures
While Allie, Joe, Garrett and I were playing on the beach a random lady came up to us and said she was captivated by Allie and just had to take some pictures. She wanted to get my email address so she could send the pictures to me, but neither one of us had a pen at the beach, go figure! So she ran up to her condo and got a pen and paper to take down my email address. Not only did she send the pictures to me, but she made this slideshow set to music! Her name is Susie Emerson and she lives in Texas, a wonderful lady with an amazing talent :-)
